Find out just how FRIGHTENING chamber music can be!
Sunday, October 30 • 5:30–8:30 pm
WSI Hall, 1430 North 10th, Lincoln
(1/2 mile north of Memorial Stadium)
The Nebraska TORTURE Chamber Players present an evening of some of the most macabre (and most fun) music you'll ever hear from a chamber ensemble! Our delightful and friendly musicians will transform into demonic ghouls and goblins to perform music often used for horror movies and haunted houses...just in time for Halloween!
Enjoy a tantalizing dinner of succulent "bone-in" meats (smoked ribs), vegetarian "ghoulash" (paella), and delectable "finger foods," after which you will receive your "just desserts."
You are welcome to take part in the festivities by arriving in costume and/or bringing your pre-carved pumpkin for the Jack-o-lantern contest. Prizes will be awarded to those who wish to participate—and everyone will get the chance to vote for their favorites!
A small number of one-of-a-kind experiences will be auctioned live, including...
• a one-day holiday shopping trip for 6 to Chicago via private jet
• a home-brewing experience hosted by brewmaster Joe Holmquist
• (whose ales are bottled under the Three Kings label)
• a gourmet dinner for 6 prepared by Chef Kasia Bradley
• a "big, fat Greek dinner" for 6 prepared by Chef Joan Reist
• an in-home concert by Nebraska Chamber Players musicians
You can take part in the experience auction even if you are unable to attend, through proxy bidding. For complete descriptions of auction items and information on proxy bidding, click here.
A silent auction will include an assortment of smaller items, including local concert tickets, painted chairs, hand-knitted cashmere gloves, and more.
Whether or not you survive this fright-fest, it will truly be a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
